Juha-Pekka Toivonen worked over the summer in Fazer’s Hyvinkää bakery in packaging and dispatching.

Juha-Pekka is studying at the Bio and Food Polytechnic of Häme to become an engineer. He had worked in other fields but not yet with food.

- I was looking for work in my field and ended up getting experience of baking at Fazer. In dispatching I checked the product quantities and made shipment documents. First I was little bit nervous about the assignment but in a few days I got it going.

What has been the best thing about working at Fazer?

- Every summer worker is taken seriously and given different jobs. Also the excellent orientation makes you feel welcomed and part of the community.

Juha-Pekka encourages students who are looking for summer jobs to be active. And think about working also outside of your own comfort zone.

- In an interview it’s important to be yourself and also tell about your wishes about the work. I asked to get a look at the baking business and also a broader understanding of Fazer as an employer.

Juha-Pekka believes that after his summer work, his studies are easier to understand since he has a profound grasp of how things work in practice.
