Follow our progress in responsible cocoa sourcing.

Our vision

By 2017, the origin of our cocoa will be traceable and all the cocoa we use fulfils the criteria of responsible production.

The responsibility criteria for Fazer are according to WCF’s three criteria: people, profit, and planet. The criteria of responsibility are met when the livelihood is profitable for farmers, people are doing well and cultivation methods are environmentally sustainable. We do not compromise the quality of our cocoa.

Our performance

In 2015, the share of responsible cocoa was increased to 72 per cent. This share includes the cocoa sourced under certifications (UTZ, Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade Cocoa Programme) and the cocoa sourced under direct sustainability programmes in Nigeria and Ecuador.

”We will continue to increase the share of responsibly produced cocoa by 10 to 15% yearly.”

Our roadmap

We will increase the share of responsibly produced cocoa according to our plan, by 10 to 15% on an annual basis according to the availability and market conditions.
