At Fazer, corporate responsibility is a vital part of managing everyday operations.

Fazer Group’s management systems ensure that corporate responsibility objectives are set and that measures are implemented. Relevant responsibility topics are taken into consideration in the Group’s and Business Areas’ strategy processes. The Group President is ultimately responsible for directing corporate responsibility work. As a member of the Group Management team, the Group’s Senior Vice President of Communications & Branding is accountable for corporate responsibility.

Fazer has a corporate responsibility board that serves to develop the Group’s responsibility and ensure that it is taken into account in business processes. The board consists of senior management members.

Business area leaders implement corporate responsibility practices, instructions and operating models. They set targets and direct work towards meeting them in their respective businesses. Business areas and country units implement the initiatives of the Group’s Corporate Responsibility Programme.

The Fazer Group outlined its ethical principles in 2007. Based on the UN Global Compact, Fazer’s ethical principles guide the activities of the Group in all of its business areas and countries of operation. As a signatory of the UN Global Compact, Fazer Group is committed to issuing an annual Communication on Progress (COP), a public disclosure to stakeholders on progress made in implementing the ten principles of the UN Global Compact. The next COP will be published in April 2014. Corporate responsibility reporting development will be one of the focus areas of Fazer’s responsibility work in 2014.
